  1. 11 bold street. We visited the Crown carvery at the vale royal in Wigan on Sunday night 10.07.16.
It was rearranged birthday party and a last minute booking. We were attended by Lee, who looked after us very well indeed. Nothing was too much trouble for him and we enjoyed an excellent meal. There were 21 of us in the party

  2. We visited the crown carvers in Alveston Derby. We was served by the lovely Leon he was very polite and welcoming, the food was lovely as always As well as dessert s. Definitely will be coming back

  3. I went to the Upper Boat Inn, Rhydyfelin, treforest, Pontypridd today at 12.05 pm. Tiny car park was full, but managed to squeeze into a small space. My friend and I had decided last week after dropping in for a lemonade that we would try out the special chicken and ribs lunch time speciality @ £6.99. I took my grand-daughter with us and when we arrived at the chef’s table, there was one piece of 4 ribs and another with 3ribs which were obviously left over from the day or night before. To say, a lunchtime meal would be available as you would expect at this time of day, considering there is a trading and retail estate within 1/4 mile is so inexcusable. I had been forewarned that the Upper Boat was not very good is an understatement. I refused the 3 rib part of my lunch because it was so dried up and no others were available and was told that it would take 15 minutes to cook others, I told the “chef” that I would certainly not be taking the ribs and so decided on a slice of beef instead – which was full of fat and completely inedible. I tried to make someone aware of this, but they were not in the least bit bothered. Meanwhile, my grand-daughter who had ordered a full priced adult meal of gammon, chips and eggs had to wait 10 minutes and she only had her lunch because I informed them that there was one hungry little girl awaiting her lunch, despite being told that her meal would follow soon after we had sat down for our meals and would be delivered to our table. The service was very poor and had I not had my grand-daughter with me, I would have walked out from this Restaurant/Inn. Added to the deception of this wondrous meal advertised, the lady who took our order intially didn’t even realise what we were ordering, although it was advertised on the till she was working out the costings. Vegetables were absolutely tasteless, and I would never recommend this eatery to anyone.

  4. as previously said in my e-mail…..totally disgusted with the service, and the old-age ribs at 12.05pm today, specifically targeted to lunchtime diners. How appalling is this for an Inn 1/4mile if that from retail and trading estates. Never again, and I hope that you have ready my previou e-mail.s

Our local, Glossop, Crown Carvery is very handy when we’ve been shopping. We know it must be good because it is usually quite busy with friendly and helpful staff. Yesterday at the carvery counter the chips had all gone and the lad serving said they will be a few minutes. He took our plates and put them to keep warm and then brought them to out table, with fresh chips. That is what I call service, and we got a smile.
No wonder it is quite busy, Glossop folk know a good place when they find one

  6. My family and i went to the copperfield gravesend road for my brother in laws birthday tonight , we have eaten at this reaturant for many years and have NEVER HAD TO COMPLAIN but tonight we had to wait in a que for 15 mins before we were served it was queing allmost out the door , two ladys behind me asked a man if he worked there and he replyed yes , and they then procceded to ask why there was only one till open he replyd that thats how it was . When i finaly got served i was looked after buy laura and can i just say she was so polite and welcoming to me and everyone else that i heard her deal with , the poor girl was under so much pressure but didnt strees even though everyone was moaing , she just kept smiling . Please make shure she gets credit for this . We will be returning to the resturant because as allways the food is never bad allways hot and a good choice . Just felt that for the first time it was let down buy the queue and then had run out of fish topped it off , but thanks to laura for restoring the faith

  7. Fantastic service at the Peartree bridge inn in milton keynes , the food was excellent and staff were efficient and friendly.

  8. We visited The Crown Carvery in Kings Heath, BIrmimgham and were disgusted. We were served food, but when we asked for gravy there was none. When we asked where the gravy was we told in would be ten minutes. I pointed out that the food would be cold by then and all that was said was that we could put it under the lights to keep it warm! We were then told that it would be more than twenty minutes for the gravy!

The staff were not concerned. In fact, they seemed think it amusing. They just walked out!

Why carve two lunches when they knew very well that there was no gravy?!

The manager made excuses for them! I don’t believe that he was bothered either!

We had our money returned, but what a dreadful place.

  12. we visited the wellington on Wetherby road in leeds for sunday dinner as we usually do. as always the staff, the service and most importantly of all the food is absolutely spot on. we were taken care of by Charlene who we see regularly and as usual charlene is fantastic at her job she is an absolute credit to the wellington. all the staff and management are there should you need them but they don’t hang around you but are nearby should any need be met. it is an absolute pleasure to go to the wellington I take my mum for dinner most weeks and will continue to do so. I would recommend this place to anyone.
