  1. I visited your pub The Kings Head in North Weald Essex yesterday, for the first time.
I was very impressed, not only with the beautiful building but with the helpful and caring staff.
Our waitress was Sally and she could not have been more helpful, she gave great service and is a very charming lady, nothing was to much trouble. Food was very good, arrived promptly and hot.
I will be bringing a party of friends with me next time we visit, and that will be very soon.
A wonderful experience all round. Thank you..

  2. We visited the George and dragon at apperley bridge for the first time since its refurb.

  3. On our way to royal stoke hospital from Anglesey Sunday 21/8/16 we stopped for lunch . What a wonderful reception. The ambiance, food service were absolutely brilliant. . Kayla, our waitress was exceptional. Congratulations, also to the manager for running such a happy efficient place of work.

  4. We visited The Golden Ball at Whiston Rotherham this evening. We have been here many times before and always enjoyed the evening. Tonight was a different story, we booked table in window, and was seated in back area directly I front of kitchen door no window in site. Everything was very rushed, we were even told we only had the table for an hour and a half as it was going to be busy night!!! The main courses were very good but the desserts were cols and no apology given. I would give you the servers name but she didn’t put on the feed back form

    Very unhappy customer

  5. We visited hare and tortoise doncaster on 25 august 2016. We are regulars so very disappointed with the food. Fish was very poor quality. My husband was served batter without the fish. We were told a new supplier was being used. I suggest the old one be reinstated. Portions were also smaller. Service was ok despite being understaffed. All in all a bad experience.

  6. We have just returned from a meal at the Smugglers Rest in Peacehaven and I have to say we were very dissapointed with the meal. I had a “Classic” Steak and Mushroom pie which had such a strange taste that we had to ask the chef what he put in the sauce. They had put a “star annise” or aniseed into a traditional Steak and mushroom pie and for me it tasted awful. (No mention of the annise in the menu).
We then tried the apple tart and custard only to find that the pastry was more like a layer of sponge cake. It was either a very poor pastry of the pie had been heated in a microwave, which made it soft and soggy.
I have eaten at this pub before and the dishers were good. What has happenened??
Our waitress Jessica and the venue were very pleasent.

  7. Hi
my family visited your establishment in Essex 3 weeks ago, this restaurant is very well run the food is hot and delicious and the staff are excellent, helpful and friendly, first thing I look at when I visit a restaurant are the toilet facilities if they are dirty and unkempt then I do not trust the food and do not eat there, your toilets are excellent beautifully clean gives you confidence in the food that you eat so all in all a very pleasant evening lovely food in a clean happy atmosphere and a long cold drink sat in the gardens, very happy!

  8. We visited the Hawes Inn in Queensferry it was the first time my wife had been there we had a tremendous waiter in Pedro we hadn’t booked and the establishment was very busy and he took us to a table for two with a tremendous view over the Forth looking out at the Forth Railway Bridge The menu was first class The service was very quick and the food was served on hot plates which is always my wifes sign of a good restaurant the toilet facilities were also very clean.
a great meal after a good day out sailing

  9. Our visit to The Thatched House Upminster was disappointing. We had a long wait to be served and the food when it arrived was not hot. The young waiting staff were very busy and it appeared that a member of the kitchen staff was waiting tables as well to speed service along. The portions were small. The lamb was undercooked and tough and the Yorkshire pudding resembled a pancake. I had the turkey roast which was ok apart from the underdone roast potatoes. The deserts were fine although the Apple pie topping seemed to be some sort of a sponge and not pastry. We will not be returning.

  10. Service was fantastic by Zoe, who gave us a warm welcome at the Red Lion Church Road Dodleston CH4 9NG.
    Lunch was hot and enjoyable.

  11. We visited the Grange farm Oadbyand was looked after very well by Anthony.he was very polite and helpful .we had an excellent meal and a lovely evening.

  12. We visited the Golden ball atWhiston on sunday night, Oct 30th,
they must have had a very busy day, quite a few things were missing from the menu.
We were served by Ash, a really nice attentive lady who explained the limited menu.
I ordered the Ham Hock and asked for new potatoes, I was informed later no potatoes were
available, I was asked if roast potatoes would suffice, The meal arrived with roasties and
was, I have to say delicious, I enjoyed every mouthful, Great stuff.

  13. Always great food and staff.
James and Jen know how to look after us,
The Cambustay in Dundee is superb, also booked for X’mas under Armie

  14. We visited the George & dragon at Apperley bridge this lunchtime and the food was lovely and the staff that dealt with us tania and Joe was also very nice and welcoming 10/10

  15. Swanholme Lincoln – lovely meal and what a delight and breath of fresh air our waitress was . Julie , thank you – three generations of our family and your kindness & fun much appreciated – what an asset to the company you are .

  16. Visited The Dragonfly, Newport, Gwent, Served by Claire on 12.11.2016. She was very polite and a credit to her employers. The meal was amazing. I had booked a table in advance as I thought a may be busy. and the person who booked it over the telephone was also polite. I had not been to The Dragonfly for some time but will not leave it so long now. It was my birthday and I went with friends who were also impressed, so much so that my friend who has a birthday in January wants to go to The Dragonfly also.

  17. A party of 6 of us went to Ye Olde 6 Bells in Horley on Saturday early evening (6pm). I had booked a table in advance and the the initial greeting by the server was what you would expect at a pub restaurant. The table, layout and the ambiance of the eating area was good and the menu when handed out looked appealing. However, we were not informed at that point, that several items weren’t available and only found this out at the point of ordering. Initially, this didn’t seem too bad as only one of the starters ordered wasn’t available (Salt & pepper calamari). However, when we moved onto ordering the mains, this was exacerbated by both the 8oz Rump steak, the 8oz Sirloin steak and the Lamb duo being unavailable. This them caused a hurried review of what alternatives were available by four members of our party, which in turn, was not helped by the fact that although we were told about the steaks availability when the first person ordered it, we were not told the Lamb was also off until one of us attempted to order that. I have to say, that our whole party were rather surprised that, on an early evening sitting on a Saturday, so many items were not available, but lets move on. When the starters were being served, one was missed (Broad bean & asparagus risotto), this was then hurriedly knocked up in the kitchen, but was obviously late in being served and then found to have had the Broad beans substituted with Peas. The main course and the desserts were generally considered to be fairly good, except for the Pizza, which was rather burnt around the edges and served with triple-cooked chips, which we thought rather strange and only found out later, that a side salad was available. We obviously hadn’t read the menu completely, but this alternative was not offered either. This was our first visit to this pub/restaurant for a number of years and although I will not hurry back, I may try it again in the future, when hopefully it will have improved.

  18. Had an extremely pleasant short break at the Old Gate Inn, Canterbury. Very cosy and rustic ambiance, with huge inglenook log fire. Staff and especially Enda very helpful and courteous. Park and ride facilities right next door. We just jumped on a bus which took a few minutes into Canterbury centre. Nice accommodation, and food and wine menu reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

  19. Jill & Brian
Had a lovely roast dinner at the Bugle horn pub near thame oxon.
Very pleasant and polite staff. A real enjoyable evening.
The building had a great open fire so it was very cosy.

  21. Booked a birthday meal at the Kestrel Harrogate on booking informed them that I had a gourmet diners card. Informed that I could not use it fri, sat & sun. When giving booking date of 6th December assured that itwas valid. On arrival told not valid for month of December !
Would be helpful if staff were made aware of conditions.
Would have been nice if offered a free coffee/ drink foe mis information rather than to be told– till will not accept it!

  22. Had a very good birthday lunch with two friends at the bears head at greetings. The service provided by Kirsten was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble although we sat for three hours. Lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will definitely will be visiting again

  23. We just had a very enjoyable Christmas lunch – this place has changed so much. Great waitress Jacqui – thanks

  24. Hi, Excellent meals all 4 of us enjoyed, served by pleasant and attentive staff, and nicely decorated for xmas. It would have been more christmasy and atmospheric had the wood burning stove been burning. Will go again to the Nags Head at Huddersfield.

  25. We ate at the kings head in south green on Thursday 8th Dec. We were served by Rita we nad an enjoyable meal and excellent service

  26. CENJK

We ate at the Kestrel ( Harrogate) on 15th December , a group of 5 . The pub had been recommended , the staff were pleasant and polite yet the service was very poor. We ordered five main meals with some starters . There was a long delay between ordering the food and the starters arriving. After the starters the main meals arrived yet 2 of the main meals that came were cold and had to be returned to the kitchen . By the time they were again provided the remaining 3 diners had finished their meals which reduded the “fizz” on the festive lunch /celebrations

  27. Ten of us ate at the red kite on wednesday evening 25th january,we had a pleasant evening with good food and service by nicola and lesley

  28. Visited Springfield hotel nottingham and the menu is rubbish does not cater for alergens. I cannot eat gluten or wheat. I would definitely not recommend this place if you have an intolerance to gluten or wheat.

  29. 24/2/17
My wife and I recently ate at the Blackhorse, Brentwood. We were impressed by the atmosphere: relaxing, with subdued but adequate lighting and tables spaced well so that nearby diners and their conversations were not right “at our elbows”. Our food was excellent and served in such a naturally, friendly way by Charlotte that we’d sit at “her” table any time! Thanks.

  30. My family of 4 visited the Fox House, Longshaw on 24th March 2017 for an evening meal as it was my daughters 8th birthday treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and thought the value of the meal deal 2 or 3 courses that they have on during the week was great. The service that evening was fantastic we really felt like we were looked after and all our needs were taken care of. Our waitress was Alice who was such a polite and lovely girl and really acknowledged the kids and made my daughter feel very special on her birthday. Her dessert was presented with a candle and the two waitresses came singing happy birthday. We had a lovely evening and will definitely visit again soon. Thank you Alice xxx

  31. Hello

  33. popped in to The Hawes Inn at South Queensferry for an evening meal and we were both delighted with quick and efficient service. Our meal was excellent and we will definitely be back with the family. It was Nicole M who served us and was extremely friendly and could not do enough for us. Full marks to her,

  34. We recently ate at The Fettykil Fox in Glenrothes where we have been several times before. I had taken my daughter to her football match straight from my work so we were starving so we ordered the duo of beef for two. To say it was disappointing is an understatement as the entire meal was barely luke warm including the vegetables. We told the waitress but said we would eat it as we were so hungry by this time. I believe serving the food in cold serving plates didn’t help. Very disappointing!!

  35. We visited the Vintage Inn at Bosham on the 21st June 2017
We have tried this Inn 3 times before and hoped it would get better but it has failed to convince us to go back again.
These Survey’s do not seem to mean a thing? as The Vintage Inns take no notice what so ever when complaints are made. We complained by telling staff and , to the Trip Advisor . Now this Survey. This is terrible for a big company to ignore the Trip Advisor complaint. The food and especially the Staff problems, they do not seem to care. Also i could not find “The Survey” at all. some other Jargon on the Survey site? was showing when i logged in. Utterly confusing it is not straight forward at all. Consequently i doubt whether anyone can recieve the £1000 that is offered???? At the Bosham Inn. The food was ok but something wrong with it every time. The waiter was rude never smiled once. When we complained about the food the waiter gave us a horrible look. He never speaks except for asking what we wanted? I do not know How Vintage inns can say they are great

  36. 37. Called again at the Woodside Worsley for dinner this evening. We dine out quite a lot with mixed results, but the Woodside is a regular fall-back as the standards are always maintained. My wife ordered the lamb shank which she said was delicious, and I ordered the Ribeye steak – medium rare – and got exactly what I asked for. Too many times in other establishments (19/20) I get it over or under done. This time: Perfect. We were looked after by the lovely Jasmine. Credit and thanks to all on the night. We will of course be back soon.

  38. Had a lovely evening at The Thatched House in Upminster last night. The ambience of the venue is spot on and the menu had a varied selection and the food well cooked. A special mention to Doris and her twin sister Emily who looked after us very well

  40. We have just had a family lunch at Fishers Pond, there was 11 of us. The food as always was very good, our waiter Nick was very comical, had a very dry sense of humour, really made a great time better ( and no he didn’t have to pay me to say this!) the mushroom starer was delicious, as was the prawn and lobster cocktail. The mains were Beef, Turkey and sea bass, all went down very well. All in all a brilliant time was had by everyone. Once again “thank you Nick”

  41. Works Christmas Meal 15th December, Very nice food, lovely restaurant and good service. We were served by Jenni and Simon and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely eat there again.

  43. Alison our waitress could not have been more helpful, she gave great service and nothing was to much trouble. Food was very good, arrived promptly
I am returning again in just over a week because of the satisfying experience

  44. My wife and I, plus brother-in-law and sister-in-law chose your Thames Court Towpath restaurant on 23 March and were impressed by the quality of the food and overall standard of service by waiter Simon.. Top marks for a superb location and ease of parking.
Two niggles, however – I personally found the background music a little too loud and distracting throughout …… could have been turned down a notch or two!.
Secondly – we were charged the full price for a glass of Hendricks Gin (£3,85) which should have been free as part of the AppWelcome Drink#1313 promotion. Only the accompanying Fevertree Tonic @ £2,10 was taken off the final bill (reference ZA93521-POS-06) I would hope you can find a way of rectifying this!

  45. Visited the Poplar Farm inn at Abbots Anne and enjoyed a pleasant meal with five coleagues from Middle Wallop airfield had a great time and we were well served by our waitress Kim. very nice indeed.

  46. Carl and Sam at Cock and Pheasant Bollington were extremely friendly and helpful. We were a large party with children and older family members and nothing was too much trouble. The food was as wonderful as the service.

  47. We’ve just had a delicious meal at the Calverley Arms. We were looked after so well by Megan who so pleasant, helpful and attentive. It was a pleasure to be looked after by her, making for a really pleasant experience. She so deserved the tip we added to our bill.

  48. I travelled up to Worcester with my husband and son yesterday, to help my daughter, Jess, and her partner, Kelly, to move into their new house. We spent a wonderful evening enjoying a lovely meal along with Kelly’s parents last night at The Nightingale. The menu was varied and suited everyone’s tastes. We were looked after by Cameron who was very attentive and went above and beyond in ensuring we had an enjoyable evening.

  49. My Partner and I visited our local Vintage Inn. The Admiral Rodney in Loxley near Sheffield. As usual the service was excellent. We had the Weekend deal 2 courses including a bottle of wine. We sat at our favorite table in the conservatory overlooking Loxley Valley. Food was excellent. We were looked after by Kate. The pub is within walking distance which is an added bonus for us on a summer evening. I had just returned from holiday so cooking was the last thing on my mind. So we don’t have to have a special occasion to enjoy a meal at the Admiral Rodney. Although we often book for a family celebration meal.

  51. I and my family visited the Captain Wife sully nere Cardiff city
and was disgusted at the serve as our coffee ,yes and apple pie was cold and took 26minutes to lady on next table on the patio where food was served was allowed to smoke.

  52. i visited the cow and calf in ilkley the food was very good but that night i was sick i rang the hotel on the next day the bar staff member was very abrupt saying ifbthink you have food poisonig go see a doctor have also writen to the hotel but 5 days latter i have not recived a replyi was not affter a free meal

  53. We visited the Smugglers Rest in the Peacehaven area of Sussex on 28/08/2018, at approx. 13.30. We chose the inn because it had a lovely outside area with sea views. We went to the bar to order our drinks, as there were so few people in the inn, only 7 cars were parked on the car park. I ordered a meal and the bar staff member, a young dark haired woman asked us our table number and I told her that we were going outside, she glared at me and said, “we’re not serving outside.” I told her that that was fine and I would take my meal outside and bring it back after I had finished to which she replied, ” Then I won’t serve you”. As we had already paid I decided that I would ignore her and eat outside anyway which I did. There was a commotion at the door where the same staff member was berating a very elderly, disabled woman demanding that she should pay to reserve a table or she could not serve her after which she stormed over to our table shouting, “I told you, you weren’t allowed to eat out here, that’s it, I won’t serve you any more drinks”. The food was bland and overpriced but the poor, bullying attitude made it worse. I certainly would not visit the Smugglers Rest again nor would I recommend the inn to anyone else.

  54. We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Vinage Inn called Fowlers Farm in Braintree. It was my sisters birthday and we booked a table online but then had to change the numbers so I called and the staff were very obliging. The place is very old with exposed beams everywhere and we were given a round table which was perfect. Most of us had the Sunday roast which was excellent and my husband had the steak and ale pie which he also enjoyed. We were served by Beth for whom nothing was too much trouble. She was really helpful with all aspects of the service and we had some luscious desserts too- I was pleased to see mini desserts offered with a coffee instead of the huge ones. We all agreed that Beth helped to make this a wonderful birthday experience for my sister and we will definately eat there again.

  55. Church Mouse, Chester Le Street, Durham. It was my birthday and my wife set up a surprize meal with two friends. We were looked after by team Jasmine. Great set of girls who were excellent. Our orders were taken and a selection of starters and main courses arrived quickly. Jasmine was on hand to make sure the food was good and our orders were fulfilled correctly. She checked without being too attentive that we were all enjoying ourselves. it was a great night and I would be more than happy to recommend the venue. We’ll be back again soon. Alan Walton

  56. Lovely meal, as always at the Talbot Inn, Biddulph, North Staffordshire. We dine here frequently and have done so for a number of years. Have never been disappointed. Well served tonight by Claudia, who was courteous and professional.

  57. Had a sunday dinner at the Hooton green restuarant , the Yorkshire pudding was uncooked in the middle, carrots and parsnips were undercooked. Other than that staff were great.
